My Social Media Plan to play overseas Basketball

Earlier in the Semester the class was told to develop a twitter account in order to communicate with my fellow classmates. I ended up become very successful with the account because I was able to follow all sorts of organizations such as the Boys and Girls Club, YMCA, Nike Corporation, Basketball coaches of Central Texas, women’s overseas basketball corporation, after school programs, and the list goes on. Several of these companies started to follow me which gave me a better chance to be employed with them. Speaking on the note of making myself more marketable, I did however get the opportunity to have two interviews with companies such as Cutco Company and the Boys and girls Club. Unfortunately, things did not pull through because their schedule was not compatible with mine. However It was very beneficial to me weather I got the job or not. It gave me the chance to really experience how powerful Twitter was and how important it is to act appropriate on all the different networks because you never know who’s watching and especially if you planning on going higher and have big dreams, you should always present yourself very professional. Soon after graduation, I plan to try and play overseas basketball.

This can be a good thing but a very tough decision just because I have had some serious injuries to both of my knees back in high school. Going all the way back to when I was a freshman in high school I was about to be on Varsity. Now if your able to be on Varsity during your freshman year, that is a very good accomplishment because not too many people get that chance. Now when I became a sophomore I was for sure about to be on Varsity. The only thing is I ended up tearing my other ACL on my right knee. 

So as you can see, I’ve been through some serious injuries and it might seem that I should not consider playing again. Well to be honest, I am very stubborn and I am a very strong individual and it’s hard for me to give up on something without trying it first hand. It’s been over four years since I’ve played competitively. Now I’ve played intramurals but that is it because I was afraid of hurting myself again. That is why I have chosen to try and brand myself in order to try and play overseas basketball. I came up with a website called “Playing Basketball Overseas, everthing you need to know. 

  In conclusion, while taking this course, I have to say I thought would be a piece of cake just because I am already knowledgeable of most of the social media networks that are available today. Unfortunately, I still had a few problems uploading the different topics that were asked of the class. I feel that some challenges that I will be faced with are trying to stay on top of each network. Posts, tagging, and blogging. All in all, I am a very passionate individual that loves to learn different things. I also love how I was able to look deeper inside of each network and really see how people are affected by it and how it can be implemented in a positive way. I truly believe that my strategy will work if I stay focused and stay on top of each network and continue to utilize each one so that it can benefit me in the long run.

 

 

 

My Brand, making myself more marketable.

Social Media is a great aspect of today. It has touch and changed several lives and is still doing so. Since the early Millinium,  social media has encountered several issue with other social media networks. Positively and negatively. some users tend to use the networks to help them verse the ones who use it negatively. Here are some helpful ways to make myself more marketable for the future.

Here are some suggestions:  a marketable major with a strong GPA and a wise selection of balanced, elective courses; extracurricular activities demonstrating leadership capability (college publications, sports, debate team, etc.) internship or co-op work experience with well-respected organizations; membership in professional student societies; and some type of community services involvement. My resume is my calling card. The more impressive it is, the more desirable  and marketable I become. I will be a prospective candidate. My major is Exercise and Sports Science with a emphasis in Physical Education with a Minor in Mass Communication. These two together can play a big role together such as broadcasting, sports anchor, and working with children ect. I feel as long as I do some good networking and stay positive, I will be able to reach and become a successful individual in the future.

Staying Healthy…Your reflections….

While interviewing students @ my job (Gary Job. Corps in San Marcos, Tx) I got the chance to get a reflection on how much the students utilize the work out machines on center. ive discovered a lot about the students and how much they work out each day after working on their trade. At the Center, there are several students that are from everywhere around the U.S. Coming from all over, it seems like students that are not American tend to work out lesser than students from the U.s. On a scale from 1-10, many student say there are not that many things to do? what they do not realize is if you want to lose the weight, you have to do it yourself and not depend on others to FORCE you. It’s YOUR body, treat it like it’s very valuable.  Here are some recommendations from myself that ive came up with that a person should do, they are as follows:

Recommended levels of activity are as follows:

• 20-60 minutes of aerobic activity 3-5 days a week
• weight training for 20-30 minutes 2-3 times a week
• stretching exercises 2-3 times a week

Most gyms will offer a complimentary training session when you join to get you started. You can also pay personal trainers to ensure that you’re doing all the exercises correctly.

In Conclusion,When it comes to staying healthy, there is a surplus of factors you need to consider—what you eat, how much you exercise, how you keep clean and even how often you sleep!

Respect your health

Respect Your healthFitness is probably one of the most important things about life. One might say, “I dont have to work out,  Im already fit?” Many americans/ non- americans do not really realize how important it truly is to maintain a healthy diet. If a person chooses to not eat healthy and watch how many Calories they consume a day, they just might be digging a deeper hole in their life and pushing forward how long it will take for them until things are worse. If a Dr. tells you specifically to not consume as much fats, thats EXACALLY what he means. Some Dr.’s are truly concerned about their patients and their eating habits. Why do you think their are talk shows out their that are continuing to broadcast each and every decade? I recently made a slideshow through Flickr using photos of my students where i work to show just how much they work out and what is offered to them and how they take advantage. In conclusion, your own health is YOUR own responsibility. Treat it like it is truly something special that know one can ever touch. Respect your health.

Social Media changing the World!

Can social networks change the world? Yes, they can, in the words of Barack Obama’s election campaign. That campaign itself provided evidence that the tools of “Web 2.0″

From my point of view, according to the link below states that in fact with in a couple of years, EVERYTHING will be socialized. It will be the main communication since texting on your normal cell phone. The fact that it has made such a HUGE impact on this world make you kinda think everyone needs a Facebook, Twitter, or even a MySpace. I recently discovered this when I saw how quickly the Government were making post while in the House of Reps? In my opinion, I am kinda glad that it has gotten to the point where people in Washington are sitting making Blogs, posts, tweets, and all other status updates on how they feel about what is going on in their life or at the moment. On the other hand to some, it could not be a good thing if you do not know how to utilize your time and completely write everything that is on your mind which can cause issues. I truly feel almost everyone will have some sort of account. whether its their publicist or them actually making the update. Social media is headed in a different direction and it is truly changing as time goes on.

Opportunities offered by online business?

One specific web search engine that i though of as far as online oppertunities offered by online businesses was the world famous downloading NAPSTER. When I was younger, I always used this. Until they statred charging for their services that is. Then following NAPSTER, came LimeWire. Limewire was a pretty good thing to use before it brought on Viruses.

Online business and ecommerce has been with us for well over a decade. Yet, there is still a lot of resistance to the inevitable changes to classic business models that ecommerce brings. For most businesses moving online, their business model did not change beyond adding postage and packing to their existing products. But is this enough? Do consumers want more from online business? 

Throughout the Nineties, they fought lengthy and costly court battles with web entities such as Napster to protect the copyright of their products.

But what the Napster episode revealed was that consumers wanted to access music online, and it wasn’t just about the music being free. During Napster’s heyday, there was no legitimate source for online music purchases, and this led people to illicit sources to find the tracks they wanted. Many consumers turned to Napster and other online sources because the catalogue was immense. A local music store can only stock so many CDs, but online, virtually every piece of music ever recorded may be available in a form available for download. For those consumers unable to find tracks by a more obscure artist, or wanting music that has been deleted from normal distribution, resorting to online methods may be the only way. Amother online business is Google, Yahoo, Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter.

Sometimes I tend to use Google just because of all the information it givesknowledges creates knowledge creates knowledge out. Can everyone be like Google, though? Isn’t Google is extraordinary because of its extraordinary market position. it actively provides access to other spaces – indeed, the more spaces, the more useful the Google service. And (unlike Facebook) Google understands that its users will provide instant and vocal feedback on anything it does – and it operates with this understanding in mind. My topic of choice is 1st time Basketball Coaches. Why is it that some coaches so hard on their team? Maybe because their worried about their pay? Maybe they truly believe in their team and their capabilities or they really want to see their players succeed and become a strong individual and get them ready for the real world so they can overcome what life has to offer them? What some coaches do not realize is that, when they have that 1 in particular player who always shows up for practice, give it their all, helps and encourages the rest of the team, but when playing time comes, their “Riding the bench? Instead of coaches helping the player, their actuall hurting them by showing them and making them feel like they are not worth the playing time. I feel that coaches should really think about the feelings of that player. Who knows, that same particular player could be the president of the United States of America? or even the person who grows up and plays Pro Basketball some day and your the “Coach” who never gave them a chance because you were worried about your job??
